Accompanied by leaders from Linyi Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Lu Huimin, a professor and doctoral supervisor from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, came to Shandong Mengshan Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. to investigate the high-purity aluminum cooperation project. Generally, pure aluminum with a purity (aluminum content) greater than 99.8% is called high purity aluminum. It is produced using high-quality refined aluminum as raw material and using directional solidification refining method. High purity aluminum can also be subdivided into sub ultra high purity aluminum (aluminum content 99.5%~99.95%), ultra high purity aluminum (aluminum content 99.996%~99.999%), and extremely high purity aluminum (aluminum content above 99.999%). High purity aluminum is silver white, with a smooth surface, clear crystal lines, and no inclusions. High purity aluminum has low deformation resistance, high electrical conductivity, and good plasticity. It is mainly used in scientific research, electronic industry, chemical industry, and the manufacturing of high purity alloys, laser materials, and some other special applications. Currently, China's annual production of high-purity aluminum is less than 100000 tons, and the product supply exceeds demand.
According to relevant data statistics, the annual gap of high-purity aluminum in China is around 100000 tons. There are two internationally mature purification technologies: three-layer liquid electrolysis and segregation. The three-layer liquid method is now widely used, but compared to the segregation method, the latter has the advantages of saving electricity, low energy consumption, and environmental protection, with an average energy saving of 6000 degrees per ton. Moreover, the segregation method utilizes physical methods, and does not involve any other added substances during the entire process. It does not require special additional energy to promote the solidification and segregation process. Apart from the gas and dust generated by the aluminum smelting itself, no toxic and harmful substances will be generated during the production process, which meets the current requirements of environmental protection production. Under the guidance of Professor Lu's invention patent, Xinjiang Zhonghe Aluminum Plant has already used the segregation method for production. I believe that with the development of domestic production processes and the improvement of product quality, high purity aluminum will be a new direction for the development of the aluminum industry. Our company attaches great importance to the introduction and application of new materials and processes, and related cooperation matters are under further negotiation.
